Paris  is  the  great  metropolis  of  many  styles  and  yet  they  are  distinctively  French  and  …  Parisian.  It  is  classic,  it  is  chic  and  it  is  vibrant  -  attracting   so  many  immigrants  from  all  parts  of  the  world  and  making  it  very  multicultural.

With  a  very  rich  and  eventful  history,  Paris  is  a  treasure  trove  of  museums  and  great  learning  centre  about  its  people  and  political  evolution  that  shaped  the  lifestyles  of  today.  Contemporary  Paris  is  so  alive,  vocal  and  colourful  with  its  freedom  of  expression  and  shopping  centres  from  up-market  departmental  stores  to  wonderful  street  markets.
 
The  opulent  and  less  rich  -  gilded  statue  of  a
  young  girl  and  a  shabbily  dressed  boy  at  the
  window  of  Palais  de  Challiot  in  Trocadero  Square
-  the  centre  of  a  lot  of  action.

Infamous  smile,  the  enigma  of  a  woman  in  a  small  painting
  hanging  in  that  very  special  corner  in  the  Louvre  Museum.
 The  smile  that  captivates  and  many  would  wait  in  long  queues
  just  to  see  her.  The  ingenious  painter  Leonardo  Da  Vinci  brought
  this  master piece  of  Mona  Lisa  from  Italy  when  he  was  invited
  to  live  in  France  by  the  king.
 
Contemporary  versus  traditional  architecture  -  the  controversial  Louvre  Pyramid  - 
complementary  or  a  ‘sore  thumb’ ?   Similar  criticisms  were  levied  on  the
  Eiffel  Tower  when  it  was  erected  in  1889.
 
The  Denon  Pavilion  of  the  Denon  Wing  of  the
  Louvre  Museum  where  the  invaluable
  Mona  Lisa  is  being  exhibited.
 
A  French  joke ?  A  little  boy  perched  on  the
  ledge  continuously  hitting  his  drum !
  At  the  height  where  he  was,  it  was
  not  easy  to  tell  if  he  was  real.
