Life can be harsh for this group of people who were mainly immigrants from Vietnam for various reasons from political to economical. This village community living on the muddy brown waters of the Tonle Sap or the Great Lake seems to go on the way it has been for decades. There are some basic social amenities like a school, religious and entertainment centres.
The boat houses everybody and everything in the family and the river and lake provides water they need - to cook, wash (including themselves), rear fishes and poultry and to receive the discharge from both humans and animals. |
