In an idyllic setting of serene waterways, lush padi fields, gardens of lotus and flowering water weeds and naturally sculptured limestone hills partially covered with luxuriant trees, life seem to be a wondrous dream. But, the boat rowers who make a living out of transporting visitors and goods sometimes have to overwork their arm and leg muscles in the scorching sun for long hours.
Tam Coc means ‘three caves’ and it is in these three beautiful caves that provide the rowers a little respite from the heat when crossing them while their passengers – usually tourists relax in their scenic escapade. |
